And so HMS Quorn leaves

Unfortunately, I didn’t get down to her on Saturday to take the tour.

There was also a parade through the town on Sunday. The BBC gave it a mention on their web site.

She left this morning around 8.50am so I got some good shots of that event. As she left the quay, a lone piper was playing “Sailing”. If you want to see the original of Sailing, check out Rod Stewart on YouTube.

One thing that always amazes me is that the lock is much longer than it looks from our position. I sort of assumed that HMS Quorn was too long to fit in the lock so would need high tide. Not so! She went into the lock today along with her “mother hen” tug – Gray  Salvor.

Well here are the shots.
